This Privacy Policy explains what data Lithuanian From Zero (the app for iPhone, iPad and Android) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The app is developed by Darius Janavicius, who is responsible for your data. Contact: mr.darius.janavicius@gmail.com.
Account. When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous account with a random user ID, so your progress is saved without signing up. If you sign up, we also keep your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name they share with us.
Learning progress. Your lesson progress, the time you spend on lessons and your streak, stored with your account so they sync between your devices.
Support messages. The messages you send us through in-app support.
Problem reports. When you report a problem with an exercise, the lesson, the type of problem and any text you write are sent with our usage analytics.
Voice recordings. In speaking exercises, after you allow microphone access, your recording is sent to our speech-recognition provider, Soniox, to check what you said. The app asks Soniox to delete the recording and its transcript as soon as the transcript comes back.
Usage and diagnostics. Events such as starting and finishing lessons, viewing offers and making purchases; crash reports; device and app information (such as device model, system version and language); device and app identifiers; and an approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address. We use them to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
Subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, receives your purchases together with your account's user ID, so your Premium access works on all your devices.
The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob on iPhone, iPad and Android. AdMob receives your IP address, device identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic data to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, and RevenueCat receives ad impression and revenue events. Premium and the ad-free purchase remove ads.
On Android, where required by law (such as in the EEA and the UK), the app asks for your consent before requesting ads; you can change your choices at any time in the app under Profile → Settings → Privacy options, or reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
On iPhone and iPad, the app asks your permission to track you. Only if you allow it can AdMob use your device's advertising identifier, and RevenueCat use it to tell which ad campaign brought you to the app. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
We use these providers, who process data on our behalf under their own terms: Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and AdMob), Amplitude (analytics, EU data center), Soniox (speech recognition) and RevenueCat (purchases). Some of them process data outside the EU, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards. All data is encrypted in transit.
We process your data to provide the app you asked for (account, progress, purchases, support and speaking exercises); for our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used, fixing crashes and preventing fraud; and, for tracking and personalized ads, with your consent.
Your account, progress and support messages: until you delete your account. Voice recordings: deleted right after transcription. Purchase records: kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat for billing and tax purposes. Usage and crash data: until our analytics providers' retention periods end.
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to receive a copy of it, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. To delete your account and its data in the app, open the Profile tab, tap the settings icon, then Delete all data. If you can't use the app, see lithuanian-from-zero-f9fac.web.app/delete-account.html. Uninstalling the app removes what it stores on your device, but doesn't delete your account.
You can also complain to the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt) or your local data protection authority.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
